Good design can do more than simply communicate positive change – it can enable it.
We believe that a well-designed website has the power to challenge thinking and influence change – and with the world in urgent transition, harnessing this is now more important than ever.
We’re on a mission to make our industry part of the solution – creating online platforms that foster collaboration and innovation to solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Sustainable development goals
Much of our partners’ work is cross-cutting across global systems, meaning we contribute to all 17 of the UN Sustainability Goals (SDGs) through our partnerships. But this year we worked on projects with a specific focus on the following:
SDG 13Good Health and Wellbeing
SDG 8Decent Work and economic growth
SDG 9Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
SDG 10Reduced inequalities
SDG 12Responsible consumption and production
SDG 15Life on land
SDG 17Partnerships for the goals
2024 highlights
In 2024 we relaunched our business. We have always been 100% committed to positive impact, but now we choose to do so 100% through the delivery of web design projects, making us more focused in how we can apply our skills to make a difference.
This saw us relaunch under a new name and identity (see Why are we ‘Made for the World’), as we brought clarity to our offering, services, and audience.
In refining our digital offer, we were for the first time able to fully articulate a framework for how we deliver impact for our partners through web design. We developed a 6-pillar framework for designing a website for positive impact, with a 7-step Impact Experience (IX) design methodology underpinning it.
This year we started offering a free 30-minute Website Action Plan – an online website assessment based around our 6-pillar positive impact website framework. These no-obligation sessions are our way of supporting for-impact organisations in recognising areas of improvement for their websites to increase their impact. Book your free Action Plan here.
Plans for 2025
We are privileged to have worked on projects that contribute to a wide range of SDGs – but with a desire to make a more valuable contribution to efforts tackling the climate crisis, we are keen to partner on at least one project in 2025 that is directly targeted at SDG 13: Climate Action.
In 2024 we became an official partner of Digital Carbon Online (DCO). By the end of 2025 we aim for all websites we build and host to be carbon-neutral and accredited through DCO. DCO’s audit process will enable us to identify and prioritise carbon reductions and proactively remove any remaining carbon through integrations with verified removal projects.
Next year we strive to improve the accessibility performance of the websites we design and build. We will begin the process of making all our partner websites meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
